The Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA-CSIC) is offering a fully-funded Post-Doc position in Artificial Intelligence, focusing on the area of moral cognition.

The position is offered in the context of VALAWAI (short for Value-Aware AI), a new EU project at the frontiers of AI. The project addresses the pressing issue of machines being aware of human values and active in ensuring the alignment of actions with such values. VALAWAI brings together neuroscientists and AI scientists to develop technologies addressing the issue of moral cognition with applications in the domain of social media, social robots and medical protocols.

At IIIA-CSIC, the main focus will be on developing tools for moral cognition and evaluating them within the medical protocols field, where medical protocols and medical decisions are morally analysed.

The candidate will be working with Prof Carles Sierra and Dr Nardine Osman, and will be part of a vibrant and interdisciplinary research team.
