Last Wednesday, February 24, the CSIC presented the 'White Paper CSIC 2030 Scientific Challenges', a book that collects the 14 strategic themes that will articulate the next ten years' research and challenges. Artificial Intelligence is one of them.

The world is increasingly interconnected, but living a life mediated by technology raises new social relationships and thoughts on ethical risks, AI's role, and the need to promote research and education in this field.

Challenge number 11 is the chapter dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Data Science in which 140 researchers from 22 CSIC institutes have participated, including the IIIA. According to our director, Carles Sierra, the main challenge is "how to get AI to be integrated into our societies in a way that is respectful of our values."

This approach is developed along with the eight categories: Integrating Knowledge, Reasoning and Learning; Cooperative and Multiagent-Based Modelling; Machine Learning and Data Science; Smart Robotics, Computational Cognitive Modelling; Ethics, Legislation, Economy and Society; Low Power Sustainable Hardware for AI and Smart Cybersecurity.
