Current Teaching

Due to my current post as Senior Research Scientist, I am not giving classes on a regular basis. In one of my previous posts as associate professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain), I had the normal teaching load of a Spanish university professor.

Courses on Metaheuristics and Hybrids

Occasionally, I give courses of 20-40 hours on metaheuristics and hybrid techniques for optimization (in English or Spanish). The last course in Spanish took place at the University of Cuenca, Ecuador, October 2021. And the last one in English took place at the Vienna Graduate School on Computational Optimization, Austria, March 2022.

Example Course: Vienna Graduate School on Computational Optimization

Award for Student Supervision

In November 2012, I received a student supervision award because my ex-student Sergi Mateo Bellido won the first prize at the Certamen Arquímedes 2012, awarded for the best Master's thesis in Spain.
